I started to attend the Unique Ladies Business Networking over a year ago and as well as meeting a group of fabulous ladies with a great deal of knowledge, contacts and advice, they genuinely want to support each other – and this has been proven repeatedly during the last few months.
I attend as a representative for a local charity, East Lancashire Hospice. The Blackburn group have really taken it to their hearts and it has resulted in lottery subscriptions, items donated to help us to raise income including a signed boxing glove that was auctioned at our Hospice Ball, Crème Eggs for Easter, using our Café Retreat for catch ups and meetings, donations from the Unique Ladies Networking events – the list goes on. It has also helped us to raise the profile of the hospice, the Apprentice star, Iasha shared the hospices posts to all her followers on social media after giving a talk at a meeting, and the Unique Ladies social media platform helps us to share news and events that are often picked up and shared by members of the group.
The ladies have also given time to visit the hospice and support it individually, Pam from Shoot & Bloom came to photograph our Bubble Rush event, Kath Bell held a virtual event with proceeds coming to the hospice, Dorothy has volunteered her time, Dawn was in the process of setting up a lunch event in our restaurant, Dorothy and Suzie chose the hospice to receive a donation, Emily donated a number of ‘Good Day Boxes’ to our patients and came along to meet and present them (prior Covid), Margaret offered to help with a baking workshop, Monica was often seen in the town centre or Marks & Spencer bag packing. I think you get the picture of just how much support this group and members have given.
In return, I have also made many contacts that I have used the services of, both personally and professionally – I have just purchased a beautiful set of ceramic bowls from Su, a sweet hamper from Sharon-Rose, contacted Liza to quote for a re-furb of one of our charity shops, arranged a meeting with the senior team and passed information onto our Clinical Leads from Dorothy, Pam has become the Hospices official photographer,I transferred my pension to St James Place with Monica, bought Christmas chocolates and cake from Margaret who held a stall at our Christmas Fayre, and Katie our marketing lead is in talks with Kath regarding Utility Warehouse promotion via the hospice.
Last but not least, I should mention the lift these meetings give to all the ladies, and especially during lockdown, Dawn and Suzie I hope you know how much we appreciate you bringing us all together, there’s nothing like getting a group of ladies together to lift spirits, motivate and basically have your back.
Would I recommend Unique Ladies for you and your business – without a doubt !
