Unique Lady of the Month – February – Lynn Meadowcroft

Introducing our Unique Lady of the Month:
February

Lynn Meadowcroft

Lynn is a ‘Positivity Pioneer’ championing the voices of women worldwide. Lynn works with women to help them to be seen, heard and valued in all areas of their life and empower them to stand up, speak up and show up. In a society dominated by men and masculine energy, Lynn helps’ women to find their voice.

Women can often wear the cape of Superwoman and so feel overwhelmed and even burnout. Through her workshops and coaching Lynn helps women to replenish their energy and overcome martyr tendencies and to KNOW that they are good enough and they MATTER.

Lynn has lived in the beautiful village of Belmont for 10 years now, which for those of you who don’t know is in the countryside about 6 miles from Bolton.

Lynn is the eldest of 6 children, 4 sisters and one brother. Sadly one of her sisters passed away at the age of 15 months when Lynn was just 3 years old and her only brother Ian, passed away when he was just 45 years old through alcoholism.

Two of Lynn’s sisters live abroad; Sand lives in San Francisco and Julie lives in New Zealand. Her other sister Jan lives in Bolton. Lynn’s mum is Renee who will be 83 years old this year and who is still very much alive and enjoying life!!

Lynn was married for 18 years and then divorced and has 2 sons Sam and Billy. It has not been an easy road for any of them with many challenges presenting themselves. Sam (eldest son) was diagnosed with bi-polar around 6 years ago and Lynn supports him as much as she can.

Billy has 2 children so Lynn became a nan 5 years ago when Jack was born and then Emily was born 3 years ago. Lynn’s grandchildren mean so much to her and it was heartbreaking in 2020 when Lynn couldn’t see them for 5 months. She has a very close relationship with her grandchildren and sons.

Lynn went to Hayward Grammar school in Bolton and left at the age of 16 to start work. Lynn worked in sales for many years selling everything from double glazing, to satellite dishes, Ross Frozen foods, advertizing space, and much more!!

When her children were born she waited until they went to school before going back to education, doing 2 Access courses in Study Skills and Psychology and then to Bolton University as it’s known now and gaining a 2.1 Honours Degree in Community studies.

Whilst studying for her degree Lynn worked as a volunteer with young homeless people and loved it. She was an advocate for them at meetings making sure their voice was heard.

Lynn then became a paid employee in the voluntary sector working with young homeless people for many years, she then moved on to work with vulnerable families as a Co-ordinator and eventually promoted to Manager.

Lynn then left the voluntary sector and began to work for herself as an holistic therapist (she had gone to night school) and eventually opened up her own centre in Bolton.

Lynn also invested in lots of Personal Development training and became a Certified Heal Your Life Teacher and Coach in 2011 and 2012 respectively. She also enhanced her holistic therapy training and became a Reiki Master 15 years ago and has done lots of other training; far too much to list here!!

Lynn closed the centre down when she found out the building was for sale and she now spends all her time running workshops and retreats for women and meditation groups and offers one to one coaching. She also works with some Corporate organisations offering team building days around ‘ Managing Change and ‘Stress’.

Currently all Lynn’s courses are online with some wonderful new courses coming up in 2021! Have a look at what she’s currently offering here

Lynn met Suzy Orr at a Unique Ladies Preston meeting around 3 years ago where Suzy mentioned the possibility of a franchise in Wigan. Lynn met Suzy for a coffee to find out more and became the franchisee for Wigan later that year. Lynn loved the ethos of Unique Ladies as it complimented the work Lynn does with women. Lynn went on to become franchisee of Bury the following year and Salford later that year!!
