Our Unique Lady of the Year 2024 is Susan Denver!!! Congratulations!
Sue won by a mile and this is so well deserved as she has been a loyal Chorley Chick since day one and has helped many of our Unique Ladies with their business growth. Suzy surprised Sue with the award early in December when she invited Sue to her home for a brew and a catch up. Several Chorley regulars were also waiting in the kitchen ready for the big surprise.
About Sue
Sue has spent over 20 years helping small businesses grow and succeed — a passion that’s driven her career across Lancashire. See has taken on roles such as business adviser, team leader, and project manager, and had the rewarding opportunity to run and promote two of Boost’s core programmes. For nearly three years now, she has been proud to be part of the Growth Lancashire Boost Business Advice Team, supporting businesses as a trusted adviser.

WHAT’S YOUR FAVOURITE…
…holiday destination? cruising – Caribbean, Europe, Far East – but also need a ‘Benidorm fix’ at least once a year
…food? Fish Dishes
…music? anything 60’s 70’ or 80’s
…author/books? don’t get chance to read that often I am always too busy
…book you have read? Who moved my cheese by Dr Spencer Johnson – interesting read..
Will you share an interesting fact about yourself?
I’m always busy, with family playing a big part in my life. I have two grown children, aged 45 and 49, who keep me on my toes, along with five equally demanding grandchildren. Grace, 13, has Down Syndrome; Isabelle, 19, is in the Army; Elizabeth, 18, is at university; Matthew, 15, is in high school; and Lucy, 9, is the baby of the family. On top of that, I often dog-sit Declan, our Frenchie, while everyone’s at work or school! I do think it’s important to find ‘me time’ to go for a drink and a meal with my husband Frank, usually on a Friday…
What words of wisdom would you give your younger self? Take your time; don’t be afraid to fail; believe in yourself; learn to say no.

One thing you couldn’t live without?
My family and friends, my grandchildren they are my 3rd job. I am a business Adviser; A charity Trustee and a Nana, Nana job is an every day job, school pickups, weekend sleepovers and holidays!!
Tell me more about your business?
1. My day job is working for Boost – Lancashire’s Business Growth Hub. My Business Adviser Role takes me to all kinds of interesting businesses, micro-small to medium-large, across all sectors.
2. I am also a Trustee of High Five a Chorley based Charity who support families of children with disabilities.
