Finding Grace in Life’s Unexpected Turns

Finding Grace in Life’s Unexpected Turns
Hi beautiful ladies,
Sometimes life has a way of sweeping us up in unexpected ways, and the past few weeks have been one of those times for me.
About three weeks ago, I found myself stepping into a role that many of you may know well—the role of caregiver. My son, who lives with a mental health condition, experienced a significant breakdown, and I immediately went to be by his side. For four days, my focus was on him, on grounding us both, and making sure he had the support he needed to begin healing.
Just hours after I returned home, I received a call from my sister. She had called an ambulance for my 86-year-old mum, who was facing a health crisis of her own. She was in the hospital for 11 days, and during that time, my attention shifted completely toward her.
As life presented me with these challenges, I thought deeply about what it means to prioritise, to choose where our energy goes, and how important it is to make space for self-care, even when caring for others. Through teaching and practicing Louise Hay’s philosophies, I’ve learned that resilience, compassion, and authenticity are the keys to navigating life’s unexpected turns.
While I certainly don’t share this story for sympathy, I feel it’s important to be open with all of you. In the process of supporting those I love, I’ve also leaned on the principles I teach—remembering that caring for myself isn’t selfish, it’s essential. When we nourish ourselves, we’re better able to give, to uplift, and to be present, even when life’s pace quickens unexpectedly.
So, if you find yourself in a moment where life asks more of you than you had planned to give, remember to breathe, to honour your limits, and to give yourself the same compassion you so freely give to others. Life may not always follow the script we imagine, but we do have the power to choose how we show up for ourselves and those we love.
Especially now we are heading into the Holiday season and everything that comes with that; the planning, the organising, the travelling, the inevitable not being able to keep everyone happy!! All of this as well as continuing to be the CEO of your own business!!
So please be mindful, tune into yourself regularly….take regular breaks….meditate, get out in nature……and anything else that helps you to stay grounded and centred and aligned with who you are and what your values are.
And if you think that I could help in any way please reach out or go to my website at www.lynnmeadowcroft.com
Sending you all so much love from my heart to yours.
