Introducing our Unique Lady of the Month for March:
Laura Pendlebury
Bolton Lads and Girls Club

Laura is an original Unique Lady, being there right from the beginning when she worked for Bolton Whites, servicing our Bolton meetings.

“I’ve made lots of lovely connections and friends along the way. I love nothing more than to talk to people about other people, and that’s how the circle starts… doesn’t it…. I’m always passionate about the work I do, if I’m not in it 100%, its not worth its salt.”

She spent the last 20 years in hospitality gaining knowledge and experience in hotels, venue’s and sporting stadiums. Over the years, most of you would have seen Laura hosting a table on matchday or organising many events within the networks such as Charity Ladies Lunches, Annual awards, Christmas Do’s and AGM’s.

“During COVID I had to make a pivot in my career due to redundancy and had to leave the workplace I had called home since 2004, along with colleagues I classed as family. I saw other opportunities that were all out of town, my next stop was to be a hotel manager however as I was pressing send to apply for a new post in Manchester I got contacted about a role in the charity sector. It wasn’t hospitality, but it just felt right….

I joined Bolton Lads & Girls Club as Relationship Manager, providing a critical role in stewarding and account managing a large portfolio of lower level giving corporate supporters to ensure the charity retains their financial support, whilst maximising the opportunities within each relationship to further develop the connection to the charity. I lead on the fundraising events calendar ensuring that all are well managed, well attended and income targets are achieved. They include the famous Beer Festival which I already organised so that was a bonus!”
